Who can qualify for help?

“Anyone can — and should — have access to health insurance. Since we have different programs, the Benefit specialist speaks to patients and does a brief assessment to see what type of insurance or program they might qualify for.”

Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid health care program. This program pays for a variety of medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources. Medi-Cal is supported by federal and state taxes.

Medicare is federal health insurance for people 65 or older, some younger people with disabilities and people with End-Stage Renal Disease.

Covered California is our state’s “health insurance marketplace” established under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The exchange enables eligible individuals and small businesses to purchase private health insurance coverage at federally subsidized rates.

The Ryan White Program (RWP) is a national program funded by the federal government. RWP provides HIV medical care, supportive services, HIV medications, and HIV-related medications.

ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) is California’s state-run program to help people living with HIV pay for treatment to stay in care.
